Thanksgiving Day

And indeed it was a day to give thanks, for NovakSeen once again took the stage and rocked with much hardness. Also on the bill that night were a band from Lithuania and another from France (a country which is known as Francreich here in Deutschland - an eerie holdover from WWII days). The French band especially was good, fusing hardcore punk with jazz. We were a little afraid that the skinheads and Krusties who were head-banging along with the French band would think we were too commercial. But from the first few bars of our very first song, instantly they were moshing and stage-diving and yelling and screaming. This kind of reaction from the crowd was exactly what we needed. We feel like we've come home again.

We packed up after the show and headed back to Dresden. Along the way we got pulled over by Die Polizie. Zittau is on the border of both the Czech Republic and Poland, so it was pretty much a random inspection -- looking for what, I'm not sure. No problems, we were on our way after a passport check, but sadly, the hot blonde policewoman neglected to frisk any of us.

"So, how does my stomach taste?"
Dinner with the other bands in Zittau. Every show we've played, the club staff cooks us dinner. That kind of hospitality and support would never hapen in the states. From top left you can see Noli, Jerry, Travis, and our man Freddie in the bandana, natürlich!

Some of the beautiful churches in Dresden, and the damage that still lingers from WWII. Most people in this part of the country are still angry with us for doing this. Kurt Vonnegut's "Slaughterhouse 5" is based on his experiences as a POW in Dresden when the bombings took place in February 1945. I recommend it highly.

We have another show in Dresden tonight, organized by our old friend Lord Bishop from the states. It's a great club, the show has been heavily promoted, so we're looking forward to kicking some ass once again

I've been told that some of the pictures on the website are a little dark, so I'll try to figure out how to use my camera better. As well, you've all probably noticed that a few days will go by before there are any positngs. It's been difficult to find an internet connection that will allow me to upload data, and I don't expect it to get better. Please be patient, and I will post as much as I can each time I can jack in.

Love to you all,
Shambo
